Grenfell Club

The Grenfell Club started life over forty years ago in a large house in Redcar with about a dozen children attending along with parents and interested people. Members of the Cleveland Society (MENCAP) felt that there was a need somewhere for their children to have a couple of hours recreation on their own. This at the same time would provide parents and carers with some much needed respite. Many of the original children still attend the Grenfell and have seen it grow over the years.

The Club has prospered and expanded providing leisure activities for its 250 members from all over the borough and beyond. The club opens five nights a week offering a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Members enjoy a wide variety of activities including, arts and crafts, cookery, computing, a multi-sensory room, regular discos, a coffee bar, soft play facilities and a snooker & pool room.
